Well, hello there!
Alex Barnett here, a 20-something year-old English major/Art minor at Winthrop University. I am a dedicated, Dean’s List student with a life-mission to learn something new every day. I am a free-lance, photo-realistic portrait artist, and in terms of other creative endeavors, I tend to categorize myself as a “jack of all trades, master of none”. I am also a newlywed (yay!), and I currently live with my new hubby [Mordy], three dogs, and one cat. Oh, and my best friend lives in a barn. [Well, I should say that my four-legged, 1100-pound best friend lives in a barn, and her name is “Hailey’s Comet”, a.k.a “Comet”.] Comet is a 10 year-old mare, registered with the American Paint Horse Association [APHA], and I revel in every single moment spent with her. I’m a tee shirt and jeans kind of girl, sarcasm is my second language, and I tend to be compulsively honest…almost to a fault. I have traveled internationally, but still have many places left on my “To Visit” list, including Israel, France, and Ireland. I love food, and I’ll try pretty much anything once. For that reason, I can assure you that I will never again consume sea urchin, raw quail egg coupled with fish roe, cow brain [true story], cow tongue, octopus, and probably eel. I’m pretty sure that I won’t ever touch a brussels sprout again either, now that I am out of my parents’ kitchen, circa 1993.
